Former Clemson wide receiver Cornell Powell was waived by the Chiefs on Tuesday. Powell was one of the final roster moves as Kansas City trimmed its roster down to 53.

Powell was drafted in the fifth round by the Chiefs after a monster senior season for Clemson in 2020. He recorded career highs in receptions (53), receiving yards (882), receiving touchdowns (seven), snaps (630) and starts (12).

It's possible another team could claim Powell off waivers. If he clears waivers, he could potentially end up as a member of the Chiefs' practice squad.

CP has worked his tail off to get his chance at the top level. I feel he has the size and talent to get signed by another team not as loaded as the chiefs. Jags need to sign him to at least practice squad.
