Ahead of the release of the SI99, SI All-American is ranking the best players at every position in the 2022 recruiting class. Recently, the recruiting service ranked the top tight ends in the country, with Clemson target Oscar Delp coming in at No. 6.

SI All American Analysis:
Vitals: 6'5", 225 pounds
School: Cumming (Ga.) West Forsyth
Recruiting: Considering Clemson, Georgia, South Carolina and Michigan

Delp certainly has the size you look for in a tight end, standing every bit of 6-5 with a frame that will allow him to pack on plenty of weight and strength. He will need to improve his burst off the line, but Delp is an advanced route runner that can line up all over the field and do damage. The West Forsyth tight end knows how to manipulate defenders in order to get free, and he shows a nice downfield burst that allows him to explode out of vertical cuts. Delp catches the ball like a receiver and tracks the deep well. Delp lacks punch in the run game and his pad level is inconsistent. He’ll need to become more effective in the run game to take the next step and become a more complete tight end, but few are better in the passing game.

Delp is the guy at the top of the board for the Tigers. He was in town for the Elite Retreat and also visited for the All In Cookout. However, Georgia and South Carolina have made this a three-team battle, one that doesn't look to be ending in the near future. Delp plans to also be on hand for the Clemson, Georgia matchup on September 4 in Charlotte.

From a distance this just has the feel of one Clemson will not win. Like if SCar has a fluke win over a down Gators this year he may follow Mom's wishes or something. Hope I'm wrong.

I've always maintained Georgia was the favorite and as of today I still think they are slight ones. I don't even think he takes it to far into the fall.
