As of early this afternoon, I don't expect either Chase Hunter or Alex Hemenway to suit up and play for the Tigers today at 6 p.m. against Virginia Tech.

Hunter, Clemson's starting point guard, is dealing with a foot injury that still needs more rest. He got hurt last Saturday against Duke and missed the Wake Forest game on Tuesday night. Hunter is averaging 14 points, 4.3 assists and 41.5 percent shooting from the field per game.

Josh Beadle started in his place Tuesday and had eight points, two turnovers and no assists. Clemson ran more of its guard play through Brevin Galloway, who had 16 points, four assists and three turnovers in the loss at Wake.

As for Hemenway (9.8 points, 52% per game), he hasn't played since Dec. 17 as the shooter is dealing with plantar fasciitis. He had a setback a couple of weeks ago and still isn't likely to return yet.

There's no official word on these two guards yet from Clemson, but the betting line of Clemson -1.5 reflects that the Tigers will be shorthanded. They beat VT earlier this month 68-65 in Blacksburg.

Check back closer to game time for starting lineups.
