2022 TE Jaleel Skinner has announced a commitment to Alabama. The in-state prospect chose the Tide over finalists Clemson, Texas, FSU and Florida.

The Tigers had really backed off of Skinner in recent months and weren't much of a factor in this recruitment of late.

Oscar Delp has long been the team's top target at tight end in this class, and he is set to announce next week. However, I fully expect Delp to stay in state and head to Georgia so expect in-state legacy recruit Jash Sapp to be the next man up when it comes to tight end targets in the 2022 class.

Why did the tigers not prioritize Skinner more? I know skinner is more of a receiving tight end while Sapp is more of a blocker/big body guy. Did they want less of a receiver at the position? It’s just frustrating to see the Tigers let a 5 star talent leave the state and go to Alabama when it seems like if they wanted to they could’ve got him.

A lot of teams backed off of Skinner down the stretch and it had nothing to do with his play on the field

Shocking that Alabama would be the school not to back off a talented kid with character issues. Surprised UGA didn’t put up more of a fight for this kid
